D is for Denver – My Act Blue Page for Denver Group — Act For Hillary

Update

(9-5-08)

Word came that the The Denver Group has been de-listed by Act Blue!

Reason? Well, this ad questioning the validity of the nominating process aka FAKE ROLL CALL at Denver upset someone in high places. Hence word came down to take TDG down!

Update:

(July 24, 2008)

You can see the second Ad placed by the Denver Group in Congressional Quarterly Daily

DG is still raising money to “bring awareness” of the risk to Democratic party, in not having an honest and open convention. Hillary’s name must be placed in nomination, not just symbolically put on ballot only to be given lip-service and, then anoint the appointed candidate. The delegates all, must be given a chance to debate, vote, and respond to a roll call of the states one by one – openly chose the party’s nominee.  Read more about why simply being ‘on ballot’ is just not enough.

Dr. Howard Dean just now became aware of the efforts of the Denver Group. Ad an open letter and signed petition is being sent to him. Please read and sign the petition here.  To quote the learned lady,

A rigged or short-circuited process taints the result in a way that I find off-putting. So often this political season the Democratic Party, sometimes at the state level and sometimes at the national one, has seemingly disregarded its own rules because some in the Party find that following those rules is inconvenient or fatiguing or scary.

Look at it this way folks, the primaries and caucuses are just like spring training, the convention is where the delegates chose the party’s nominee, openly and publicly on national T, (to extend the analogy general election is the big game.)  Oops, sorry for the sports thing, but it seems to work for an overwhelming majority of Americans. Now, if the convention is the real game, or battle ground if you wish, then why does the DNC want ‘spring training stats’ to decide who the champion is?  Or, using slightly different metaphor, why decide the fate of tied game on the basis of a first inning score, why not let the process play out? Anything short is a questionable, and smacks of Scalia and 2000 (Gore v Bush) style decision making. Remember the phony question “how many times do you want those ballots counted?   Well, will the convention delegates even get to vote, let alone have their true intentions declared and tallied? Or, do we want a razor thin margin of dubious spring training stats to decide the fate of the nation and the free world?

Click on the link for  D is for Denverto go to my brand new, Act Blue Fund raising Page For The Denver Group. You can read there my plea about why 2008 is so important, why we need to have a choice at the convention.

For those who don’t know, Act Blue is an online clearing house for fund raising for democratic (large D included) causes, candidates and organizations. Similar to Emily’s List, Move On and others, it uses the powers of the Internet to streamline and energize the donation processes. Using a variety of web tools, it helps get the word out, get citizens involved, and best of all makes donating to your cause as easy as ordering netflix movies ….

When you read the goals of  The Denver Group and follow their on-going activities, you can see why It is important that we should help them. It is Democracy, stupid.

So, come on fans of ‘the Senator’. Let’s do it, now!

(Thank You HLF and Tom In Paine!)

  • Slaying Salmon July 15, 2014
Home from commercial fishing grounds in Bristol Bay, and here's Piper helping slay salmon to market! A good season for wild reds on the Nushagak, Piper hopes to make enough to cover, maybe, a cell phone bill. Do you agree, as I’ve said before, we need more girls holding up fish in pics instead of holding up iPhones in selfies?!  It’s always wonderful re […]

  • It Takes a Village... to Slay a Salmon July 3, 2013
The beauty of catching some of our Alaskan species with fins is the amount of meat harvested with each fish. Rod and reeling red salmon, or, my favorite, a big (or even not so big) halibut ensures you've got a few dinners taken care of even when feeding a bunch of people. We had a blast hauling in halibut in Homer a few days ago, despite the cold rain an […]
  • Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Gettysburg June 30, 2013
Today marks the beginning of the week-long ceremonies commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. There will be a full re-enactment of the battle, discussions with panels of historians, and of course a re-reading of the Gettysburg Address. But as Lincoln affirmed when he dedicated that hallowed ground, nothing we say or do can “add or de […]

If you missed President Obama’s State of the Union address last night, you didn’t miss much – especially if you watched any of his past four State of the Union addresses. We heard the same recycled rhetoric, and we heard his Orwellian declaration that the cornucopia of new federal programs he proposed, as well as his intention to eradicate world poverty, wou […]
  • New Year's Resolution to Keep the Faith! January 1, 2013
Best wishes to everyone for a happy New Year! In the coming days there will be a great deal of debate about the goings-on in the political arena and the shenanigans in Washington. Constitutional commonsense conservatives must stay engaged and hold our “leaders” accountable to the voice of average everyday hard working Americans or we will very soon become an […]

  • ABC Whines Trump’s ‘Assault’ on Media at Rally Was ‘Incitement’ for Violence August 23, 2017
ABC’s Good Morning America started off Wednesday’s broadcast in a frantic mood, complaining over and over again about President Trump’s verbal attacks on the media at last night’s rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Instead of taking these typical knocks from Trump in stride, ABC went in full on Chicken Little mode, worrying that his words would “incite” one of his s […]

  • BOOM! Ex-RNC Official Shields Demolishes CNN’s Irresponsible Trump Rally Coverage August 23, 2017
Fighting a brave battle against CNN’s emotionally hysterical, overwhelmed, and triggered liberals after Tuesday’s Trump rally, CNN political commentator and former RNC official Mike Shields thoroughly lambasted his colleagues losing their minds for spending time “chiming in that we just think the President is insane” and deeming him mentally ill.

  • CNN Unmasked: Trump Is 'Bat Crap Crazy,' 'Psychotically Demented' August 23, 2017
Immediately following President Donald Trump’s fiery campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday, CNN completely dropped their thin façade of an objective news organization. In the wake of the address, there were many cries on CNN Tonight accusing the President of being truly out of his mind and unfit to hold the office of the president. Host Don Lemon dec […]

  • Deranged, Unstable CNN Loses Its Mind Post-Trump Rally, Led by This Don Lemon Rant August 23, 2017
CNN Tonight led the way in providing the left’s response to Tuesday’s Trump rally in Arizona, openly rooting for the President’s removal from office. It was all kickstarted by host Don Lemon’s rant immediately afterward denouncing Trump as a unstable, unintelligent child attacking “an imaginary friend.”

  • Freeform’s Left-Leaning ‘The Bold Type’ Introduces Black, Male, Conservative Character August 23, 2017
Perhaps the writers at The Bold Type have been reading the many stories posted here on Newsbusters about their extreme leftist slant and inappropriate material for teens and are feeling guilty for their typical, liberal Hollywood ways. Because Tuesday, August 22’s episode, “The End of the Beginning” took a shocking turn for the better by introducing a likeab […]
