On the day gold touched $1900, our president had his head buried in sand.

What does America really need today, more stimulus, or a Restoration?

Approximately one decade after the horrid infamy of the attacks on America, to be exact on September 3rd, 2011, in Indianola, Iowa, America will begin her Restoration.

Something is being planned by the good folk of Iowa on that day. Our dear Governor Sarah Palin will be there. But what will unfold on that day precisely is unimportant in detail, but very significant overall. For that day will mark the beginning of America’s Restoration.

On September 3rd, 2011, at Indianola, Iowa, Sarah Palin might throw her ring into the hat of the 2012 presidential sweepstakes, or, she might just reaffirm her call to a patriotic recommitment to America (my bet is on the latter) which will amount to a re-statement of what she has said all along: she will serve the nation if she sees no one fit willing to stand up to serve.

Indeed, on 9-3-2011 Sarah Palin might simply proclaim a call for patriotism, the need to serve the nation, to not give up, to keep the hope up, to rise up to the challenge that we are indeed a nation of exceptional people like none other (and not just like the Brits or the Greeks in their own minds – how odd indeed that our leader should have chosen the most moribund of loser nations as allusions).

Indeed, on 9-3-2011 Sarah Palin might even announce an exploratory committee, or even a Committee to Restore America (which would amount to the same), or just simply call upon Americans to ‘never forget’.

Whatever does Sarah Palin do at Indianola, Iowa, suffice it to say, that it will be a turning point for not only America but for this impending political season, pundits be damned.

It will be an act of Governor Palin on her terms, on her timing and at her own pace. One could even justify the timing as an effort to not distract from the true solemnity of the actual anniversary of ‘Nine Eleven’.

(In my heart of hearts, I believe Governor Sarah Palin to be so noble as to not exploit the actual date of 9-11-2011 – and indeed leave that date alone for the dignified observance it deserves-  and, Sarah will use a date closer to the anniversary to refer to America’s greatness and need for restoration of self-confidence and prowess. Hence the meaningfulness of the Indianola, Iowa event.)

  • Slaying Salmon July 15, 2014
Home from commercial fishing grounds in Bristol Bay, and here's Piper helping slay salmon to market! A good season for wild reds on the Nushagak, Piper hopes to make enough to cover, maybe, a cell phone bill. Do you agree, as I’ve said before, we need more girls holding up fish in pics instead of holding up iPhones in selfies?!  It’s always wonderful re […]

  • It Takes a Village... to Slay a Salmon July 3, 2013
The beauty of catching some of our Alaskan species with fins is the amount of meat harvested with each fish. Rod and reeling red salmon, or, my favorite, a big (or even not so big) halibut ensures you've got a few dinners taken care of even when feeding a bunch of people. We had a blast hauling in halibut in Homer a few days ago, despite the cold rain an […]
  • Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Gettysburg June 30, 2013
Today marks the beginning of the week-long ceremonies commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. There will be a full re-enactment of the battle, discussions with panels of historians, and of course a re-reading of the Gettysburg Address. But as Lincoln affirmed when he dedicated that hallowed ground, nothing we say or do can “add or de […]
  • #SOTUGottaBKiddingMe February 13, 2013
If you missed President Obama’s State of the Union address last night, you didn’t miss much – especially if you watched any of his past four State of the Union addresses. We heard the same recycled rhetoric, and we heard his Orwellian declaration that the cornucopia of new federal programs he proposed, as well as his intention to eradicate world poverty, wou […]
  • New Year's Resolution to Keep the Faith! January 1, 2013
Best wishes to everyone for a happy New Year! In the coming days there will be a great deal of debate about the goings-on in the political arena and the shenanigans in Washington. Constitutional commonsense conservatives must stay engaged and hold our “leaders” accountable to the voice of average everyday hard working Americans or we will very soon become an […]

  • Trump Ends Family Separations at the Border, Nets Still Not Happy June 21, 2018
With the stroke of a pen, President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday that would officially end the policy of separating parents and children who come across the southern border illegally. It’s what many on the right and left wanted to see happen, but for the liberal media it wasn’t enough, as CBS anchor Jeff Glor demonstrated by opining about how […]

  • ‘Did You Take a New York Times Suppository This Morning?’ June 21, 2018
A gem of a comeback on a prime time drama. After a character contended “the world is no longer as simple as us and them” and “if we don’t evolve beyond us-and-them logic, then we will go extinct,” another character retorted by wondering: “Did you take a New York Times suppository this morning because I can’t imagine how else anybody can internalize so many b […]

  • Celebs, Media Bash Pro-Lifers Not Being ‘Pro-Life’ for Immigrant Kids June 20, 2018
Taking children from their parents is wrong – whether they’re born or unborn. But many in Hollywood and the media are accusing pro-lifers of only focusing on the unborn while, at the same time, they only focus on the born. Following reports of children separated from their parents after crossing the border illegally, many celebrities and media attacked the p […]

  • Splinter Staff Still Using Twitter to Post Stephen Miller’s Phone Number June 20, 2018
Twitter reportedly took action against Splinter News’s Twitter account after it tweeted the personal cell phone number of White House advisor Stephen Miller. Despite this action, Splinter’s editor-in-chief shared the number, yet again, by retweeting a screenshot with information about Splinter’s temporary Twitter ban.
