It’s been a long journey for this PUMA.
2008 remains the worst, unforgettable and unforgivable year of nasty politics glorified by the official Democrat partee, high water marked by their premature and pompous declaration of a candidate even before the convention. Thereby, the Democrat partee proved eminently undemocratic and arrogant and unpatriotic. They shut out Hillary, and shutdown debate or even a semblance of openness. And went on to manufacture a scripted convention and a sock puppet candidate.
It was a tale too painful, but was parturition of the PUMAs.
This blog’s transition began as a disillusionment with the Democrat party’s head honchos in Washington DC, the deception and crookedness that went on during the Dem primaries, 2008, exceeded only by the shnanigans at the DNC-RBC meeting; the sloppy, lazy, fawning posturing by the New York media’s elitist world – their obsession with Obama and hatred of the Clintons on shameless display in the year 2008 was amazing – the continued open expression of contempt for all things American, politics of destruction and deception, and the unholy melding of ultra-left screed with propagandist populism practiced by the vast left wing political machinery, and the total take over the major new media platforms by the wackos of the Left, plus the frustration with the endless apologizing for American policy ideas and practices — all of this is too much even for lifetime’s worth of disappointment.
To dissent, criticize and disagree polemically is one thing, but to demonize, brainwash the young and destroy responsible discourse, as the Left has done in the last three years has driven quite a few away toward the Right. Watching Sarah Palin being destroyed from the moment she entered limelight breaks one’s heart. The disgust and cynicism engendered thereby, and suffered by the middle of the road populace seeks out amelioration, and that’s where Bill Whittle comes in.
No American should be denied the benefit of Bill Whittle and his wit and wisdom. If you do not know who Bill Whittle is it’s lucky that you are reading this before it got too late. You’ve just gone too long without.
Bill Whittle has made numerous video for Pajama Media TV. Regardless of your party affiliation, ideological bent, or stage of life, there is a Bill Whittle video that’s bound to affect you profoundly. So, get yourself over there and enjoy his videos. Until you have seen one of his wonderful, thoughtful and rousing videos in the Afterburner collection at Pajamas Media Television, you do not deserve to call yourself an American.
Yes, there is a Bill Whittle video that addresses you specifically, but everyone should see all his videos.

A personal observation:
One of the videos that remains seared in the mind is this oratorio to the United States, in which Bill Whittle demolishes our fearless leader’s admiration for ‘the country of his birth’
“I believe in American exceptional-ism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptional-ism, and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptional-ism.”
(President Obama, when asked if he believed that America was “exceptional,” in world affairs.)
This is a left-handed compliment if ever there were one.
This insult to America exceeds all personal insults hurled at people.
This is more offensive than “You are likable enough, Hillary.” of the primary season debates of 2008.
This is more offensive than the ‘lipstick on a pig’ reference of the general election rally.
This is more offensive than “For the first time in my life, I am proud to be an American.” comment of his spouse, our now First Lady.
This is a thousand times more disgusting than spouting paeans to the destructive cult of Islam at Cairo, a few months back.
This is the ultimate attack on the well-grounded, self-pride of four hundred year-worth American ingenuity, inclusiveness, rectitude and idealism.
Most shameful of all, this should not have come from an American President, period. . Shouldn’t the first job of a First Citizen be at least be an American? Why should this not be an offense deserving of removal from office. Haven’t we have had enough of ‘malaise?’
Should one man’s search for his father’s dreams be allowed to become the nightmare to a nation?
When will America wake up?
George Bush’s non-leadership drove millions of Americans to Arianna’s Huffington Post since 2002. The MSM’s handling of Hillary and Sarah, and Obama during the last two years has driven other millions away from the netroots media. Some went in search of authentic conservative alternatives. Pajamas Media has become, since 2005, a bastion of conservative thought, news and information.
The author of this post has deleted all bookmarks related to HuffPo. Nowadays, Pajamas Media is all the news and opinion this PUMA needs to be informed.
And, Bill Whittle.
(This will be a sort of bucket post, original tribute to Nikki Haley remains above fold, latest update will be upfront, be sure to visit previous updates below fold)
TODAY IS THE DAY … VOTE FOR NIKKI HALEY !!
Seems the winds of political fortune are blowing Nikki’s way. Politico’s Jonathan Martin has a finger on the pulse of the electorate in the ‘new South Carolina’.
For conservative women [ ] Haley is what they’ve been waiting for — a barrier-breaking woman who wants to talk more about issues than the history she may make.
Running against a trio of longtime politicians in the primary earlier this month, Haley seized the mantle of both outsider and purist conservative — a formidable combination in this election year.
If there’s been any doubt hitherto, this should put paid to it – Nikki Haley will be the next governor of the state of South Carolina.
CNN is reporting that a major primary battle rival of Nikki Haley, Henry McMaster, the SC Attorney General, will endorse Nikki Haley in the week leading up to the run-off election.
Haley’s sweeping victory in the four-way GOP primary last Tuesday ended McMaster’s gubernatorial ambitions, but the two Republicans maintained a friendly relationship throughout the race and spoke by phone several times in the wake of Haley’s win.
McMaster finished in third place, just behind Rep. Gresham Barrett, who faces Haley in a June 22 runoff.
Haley spoke warmly of McMaster the day after her big win, calling him “amazing” and “a joy to campaign with.” CNN.
Add the fact that no less an expert than Karl Rove opined recently that the run-off chances of the distant-second place winner, Gresham Barrett to be slim. That and likely pressure from party bigwigs, donors and a natural building of critical mass will ensure that Haley will carry forward with some ease.
NIKKI HALEY LEADS BY 21 POINTS
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Haley picking up 55% of the vote over Democratic State Senator Vincent Sheheen, who earns 34% support.
Haley picks up more support than her Republican opponent among voters not affiliated with either major political party.
Haley is viewed Very Favorably by 34% of South Carolina voters and Very Unfavorably by only 13%.
At this point in a campaign, Rasmussen Reports considers the number of people with a strong opinion more significant than the total favorable/unfavorable numbers.
Go Nikki, Go.
Click the emblem in the sidebar to contribute to Nikki Haley for Governor.
The next big hurdle for Nikki is the runoff on the 22nd of June. Once she pulls that off, she is sure to win the Governor mansion, Real Clear Politics considers the state in general election to be a Likely GOP.
Nikki Haley is now National News! There is at least one reference to her in almost daily on the memeorandum stream. Major sites such as the Daily Beast and Politics Daily, as well as Politico are doing a story on her frequently.
The left is exasperated that its natural claim over ‘foreigners’ is not holding fast. It is seething with discontent, partly fueled by the failure of its own chosen One, and now it seeks to attack all that’s in sight. Not just Nikki Haley, but everything South Carolina.
The liberal media is now recruiting Indians to bash Nikki by questioning her honesty and impugning her character …. MORE
See the image of an acorn in the sidebar of this blog, it’s been there almost an year!!
Click the acorn image to access an amazing graphic of the many interconnections amongst unions, democrat politicians and acorn, an embedded video, and more links to accredited research. The video has lots of disturbing stats, a few funny lines, and some very annoying old history.
Looking back, it’s not quite clear where and when the image and CRACK THE ACORN slogan first appeared, but the best recollection is that this blog got it from JUST SAY NO DEAL, a favorite website, around October 2008.
Quite overlooked for a long time now, the image of the Acorn in the sidebar is begging for new attention. CRACK THE ACORN!.

Honorable Barack H. Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America was born on August 4, 1961. (He is a Leo)
Let’s wish him a Happy Birthday!
Here is the unforgettable Ms. Norma Jean.
Let it be said first of all, although this blog was born as a NObama blog, and we are committed to be critical of him as and when warranted, this blog wishes to honor the Presidential Office. The office will always be bigger than the occupant; bloggers should always honor the person while disagreeing with the personae. (We leave the hate business to the leftist, anti-Palinistas).-
President Obama is currently the most well-known person in the world. If he is only a bit more widely known than Sarah Palin, it’s simply because he has been at it longer. Surely, she is the ‘other’ better known American today. Hopefully someday, she will replace him in both fame and office.
As we honor the special day of our youthful president today, it would not be inappropriate to mention the cloud that remains on the documentation of this event some forty-seven years ago.
It was amazing when the candidacy of a candidate would-be-44 birthed expressions such as NObama, Hope Bong, Hopium and a whole slew of other words. Now even though he is in office, some two years after he burst upon the national scene, a whole new word has been born. Birthers.
Our president is a mam who inspires strong emotional responses. He is what the media labels as polarising if not in the good graces of pundits, or as messianic if in favor.
It appears that in the eyes of history, win lose or draw, the name of the 44th president will become a legend of some unique sort.
What is quite clear to this blogger and many other observers, is that the name Sarah Palin will someday become equally legendary. For she is the only person with that sort of personality around here in these parts.
In the meantime, let’s say once again, Happy Birthday Mr. President!
This time the zen-maitresse writes lovingly, wistfully about the year that has passed. The year of the Puma.
It was a year ago during the Memorial Day weekend, that the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee dealt a final insult to Senator Hillary’s candidacy. It was a sheer act of perfidy. Masterfully engineered by the DNC honchos, valiantly fought against by Harold Ickes and team-Hillary, all to naught. The primaries of Florida and Michigan, embroiled in controversy and rule-breaking, manipulated ad nauseum by the ilk of Rep. Wexler et al, leading ultimately the Obamists to won. PUMA was born. NObama was born. Sarah Palin was yet unknown to most America. Has it really been only one year, it seems like so long ago!
Dakinikat’s post is a must read. A great look back, a sad lament, not to be forgotten:
One Person one vote is a bedrock of our political system.
That was until one year ago today, when the Democratic Rules and Bylaws Committee declared the voters of Michigan and Florida to be one half of a person. This decision, done in a closed room behind close doors, was done in the name of party unity and led to the famous “party unity my ass” uttered at The Confluence that led to the PUMA movement. [sic]
…we found out soon enough that the party leaders did have their agenda and it was to ensure that we had their Candidate. We’re still unraveling the reasons for this travesty. We endured sexism, misogyny, and race-baiting through out the entire election cycle. We will be paying for this most undemocratic of decisions for years to come. We could have had a President that supports Abortion Rights and Universal Health Care. We could have had a President that refused to vote for FISA. We could have had a President that wasn’t controlled by lobbyists, Wall Street Fat Cats, and was a policy wonk extraordinaire.
In these days of growing sports frenzy, with baseball picking up steam, basketball and hockey in the limelight, with the US auto industry in trouble again, and with the Obama flip-flops continuing, only a few folks may have heard that Governor Palin refused federal stimulus funds for Alaska. Even fewer would have bothered to find out the details.
It is natural for us pumas to worry about the press in this country not doing its job fairly, if at all. When is the last time you have heard about anything that Sarah Palin did, other than gossip about her family, children no less!
Recently, the Governatoress, yes, that’s the new affectionate term I coined for Sarah Palin, it’s along the lines of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s nickname the governator, explained her stand.
In an Op-Ed piece in the Anchorage Daily News, Governor Palin explained that federal money was tied to changes in Alaska policies that ran counter to local legislation, local traditions and an Alaskan way of thought. Here are some quotes:
Strings were definitely attached to federal energy dollars. The stimulus law in section 410(a) (2), along with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) official guidance, required certifying one of two options before Alaska could receive the energy conservation funds. [sic]
The Legislature did not pass a bill adopting a statewide energy building code. In addition, the federal residential building code does not allow exemptions, such as we use in Alaska. When Alaska Housing Finance Corporation funds are used, building and energy codes can be waived due to the “high cost of implementation” in different areas of Alaska. One size does not fit all in Alaska. [sic]
Alaska communities have the right to determine for themselves whether to adopt building codes. [sic]
The Department of Energy finally admitted section 410 and their previous statements were “inappropriate” for some states but still wanted an agreement to push model codes on all Alaskan communities. I said no.[sic]
Beware of Washington, D.C., trying to cajole local community leaders to eliminate the choices Alaskans have when building or renovating homes and businesses. These new codes are so detailed they would dictate the kinds of lights that can be installed in a home in Akutan, and how thick window panes must be in Chignik. [sic]
We have hundreds of millions of dollars already budgeted for conservation, weatherization and renewable energy development. My administration will remain vigilant for Alaskans and oppose mandates or pressure to conform from Washington, D.C., bureaucrats.
Even a cursory reading of the op-ed article reveals the reasoning and the eloquent argument made by the Governor. You won’t read too much about it in the popular press. I guess, that’s why we-b-log.
The tough mouth Glen Beck is now on Fox. CNN was probably not quite as homey. Anyway, here he is doing the only intelligent move he has made ever. Asking our heroine, Sarah Palin to be his first guest!!
After the gratuitous compliment about her physical attractiveness, Beck jumps right in (Is Obama your president?)
This is the great Sarah we have always known, but was always filtered off, and never allowed to shine by some segments of the Fourth Estate last year. In these clips, she is smooth, polished, noble, elegant and dignified.
Listening to Sarah in this interview, I had echoes of Hillary at the convention in my ears. Governor Palin was not only most cordial and and congenial in welcoming Obama’ s administration, she struck all right notes in cheering for America, our way and our politics. Not one bit of disappointment, bitterness or chagrin! Will the netroots find something in here to carp about Sarah? To paraphrase Sarah, you betcha!
I thought the Governor was terrific, at ease, focussed and poised. That is, poised in preparation for her next moves. What do you think?
